KALEIGH GLOVER ARDOIN

Kaleigh Glover Ardoin is an artist living in the southern coastal city of Corpus Christi, Texas. Fascinated by the creatures and colors found in nature, Kaleigh’s paintings are inspired by the things she sees in the outside world in her daily life and travels. With a focus on coastal birds, sea creatures, and tropical plants in her artwork, her practice has evolved from pure adoration and celebration of the subjects to honest observances and a deeper interest of the wild beings in relation and opposition to the human being and its byproducts of life experienced in the evolution of the world. While referencing realities, her paintings encourage you to escape just that.

Although she primarily works with acrylic paint on canvas, switching up mediums and surfaces is not out of the question. Whether it’s drawing and blending colors in acrylic or oil, playing with ultra-watery abstractions, collaging maps, prints, and paper, and sometimes working with super heavy gesso to create sculptural texture, each piece is uniquely created. Layering different techniques and even mixing realism with a touch of abstract, graphic elements, or sometimes surrealism in an energetic color palette, the artist hopes to evoke a sense of wonder with her artwork.

Kaleigh has been experimenting with art making since grade school, received a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi in 2016, and founded The Art Project in 2018 to paint murals, signs, create designs, guide paint parties, and organize local art shows into businesses in Corpus Christi, Texas and surrounding areas. You can find her murals in private homes, lively businesses, and in public spaces. She continues to create art from her home studio to show in solo and group shows, galleries, art centers, fairs, and for commissioned projects.
