With a true love for nature and observing humanity's ways of existing within the landscapes, creating artwork allows me to process both excitement and sorrows associated with these aspects of life. Focusing on things I find beautiful, I like to translate those things onto the canvas with a lively color palette. Using acrylic and oil paints, I love blending and fading colors, layering abstractions, adding patterns, and making up compositions referencing birds, fish, plants, and sometimes human life or objects. Sometimes I like to get extra creative and collage maps and pieces of prints from previous artworks, or even slathering on some super heavy gesso to get a little sculptural. Mixing the art techniques and trying new things is where the real fun is when playing in the studio! It's all about the escape of life, while experiencing life, while being appreciative of each step of the way!

The cutest series of birds doing human things like surfing, fishing, or driving classic cars on the beach on small blocks of wood! Nothing goes to waste in our household!
